The central part of Croatia between Zagreb and Sisak was struck on Dec. 29 by a strong earthquake in which, according to the latest reports, five people died.
According to the European Mediterranean Seismological Center the epicenter of the 6.3 magnitude earthquake was in the area around Petrinje.
A 13-year-old girl in Petrinje died while the mayor of Glina said that four people had died while at least 20 were injured.
Medical aid has been dispatched to Petrinje from all around Croatia including food and other staples for people who cannot go back to their homes. The city was also visited by President Zoran Milanovic and Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic.
