Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic stated on Feb. 4 that it was important for Serbia that French President Emmanuel Macron had no wish to impose a stance on Kosovo, but showed interest in hearing the Serbian side.
"That is usually not the case in many countries that have recognized the independence of Kosovo," Vucic said at a news conference in Palace Serbia after the session of the Serbian government, which he attended.
He stressed that the people should not be given false hope about Serbia's position regarding Kosovo and "pretend that things are lovely in Kosovo." "They are not and will not be. Those who say they would – are lying. We have to fight for the interests of the people and secure their safety," Vucic stated.
Asked about his recent criticism of the work of certain ministers, Vucic replied that, during the government's session, he asked the government members for more energy and enthusiasm, without "mentioning any names." "To do more for the people, to show greater unity. I am disgusted when I hear that they (certain ministers) report (to the media) all the worst about their colleagues, often without grounds, just to secure better media treatment for themselves," he added.
