The director of one of Belgrade's military medical centers, Karaburma, Colonel Ivo Udovicic, warned on Feb. 10 that the outbreak of Covid-19 was far from being under control, and that the number of infections was growing.

Dr Udovicic explained the numbers went up again as people relaxed precautions following a vaccine rollout, adding that a growing number of beds occupied by Covid-19 patients was a concerning trend.

The doctor said in an interview with the Serbian Broadcasting Corporation (RTS) that his hospital had been full for two or three weeks, and that many of the patients required intensive care. "Perhaps we'll need to suspend the closure of temporary Covid-19 hospitals," Dr Udovicic said.

"We need to be careful and take care where we go, and what we do," Colonel Udovicic has warned.
