Vaccine
The first batch of the vaccine against COVID-19 arrived in Montenegro in the evening on Feb. 17. The 2,000 doses of the Russian vaccine were donated by the Serbian government.
Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic flew in with the shipment and was welcomed by Montenegrin Prime Minister Zdravko Krivokapic and Health Minister Jelena Borovinic Bojovic.
Solidarity is paramount in times like these, Brnabic said, adding that her country is ready to donate more vaccines should there be need. “With this gesture we want to open a new chapter and raise the relations [between Serbia and Montenegro] to the highest possible level and for them to be such as exist between brothers and sisters and best friends,” she said.
Krivokapic thanked Serbia for its donation. “This shows that you have great respect for Montenegro. [We] hope that this is the beginning of a new development of relations between the two countries,” he added.
Montenegro has not yet begun with the vaccination of its population.
