The company British American Tobacco (BAT), which has a cigarette factory in Vranje, announced on March 10 that, in its latest report about sustainable operation, it pledged to make all its production processes carbon-neutral by 2050.
They pointed out that this was BAT's additional step towards the goal that was set earlier – to become carbon-neutral regarding the emissions that come directly from its business operations by 2030.
With the new decision about full carbon neutrality, BAT is making an additional commitment to cooperate with all its suppliers in the issues of climate change, and to support the farmers who produce for BAT in endorsing the growing techniques that have a lower carbon footprint.
