Eight people died from the consequences of the coronavirus infection in the past 24 hours in Serbia and there were 198 newly infected, the Ministry of Health announced on June 10.
There are 510 patients currently being treated in hospitals, 20 of them on ventilators. Since the start of the epidemic in Serbia 6,938 people have died and 714,252 have been infected.
The deputy mayor of Belgrade, Goran Vesic, stated on June 10 that the City of Belgrade was preparing various gifts, including theater tickets and several dozen tickets for the Exit festival, with the aim of motivating people to take the vaccine against the coronavirus.
The director of the World Health Organization (WHO) in Serbia, Marijan Ivanusa, stated on June 10 that the most important thing was for parents to know that the vaccination of children would not be recommended with the vaccines that had not passed the clinical trials for children. He added that the WHO was not yet recommending the vaccination of children, but only because there were other priority groups in need.
