Over 750 members of the Land Army’s Third Brigade, with support of the Serbian Air Force and Air Defense units, had successfully carried out the so far biggest exercise in night conditions held at the Pasuljanske Livade grounds, according to a June 23 press release of the Defense Ministry.
The announcement further says that the units carried out complex combat actions of a tactical group during the night defense operation using the state-of-the-art optoelectronic means recently acquired by the Army of Serbia.
The exercise was realized as part of a joint tactical drill with live ammunition titled Lightning Strike 2021.
On the occasion, Army of Serbia Chief-of-Staff Gen. Milan Mojsilovic sent a message to the Serbian citizens that the Army is capable of carrying out all its tasks, including those conducted during night and in complex meteorological conditions.
“In the past seven days the Army of Serbia has been intensely conducting exercises in the air, on water, i.e. on internal navigable routes, and on land,” he said.
Mojsilovic pointed out that the Land Army had thus proved that it can carry out its combat activities in night conditions not only when it comes to defense operations, but also in attack operations.
