Milan Dumanovic

Former police inspector and founder of the Liberation movement Milan Dumanovic said on July 22 that Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic needed to step down immediately after crime group leader Veljko Belivuk's testimony.

Dumanovic told BETA that Belivuk had only confirmed what everyone in Serbia knew, which is that the Serbian Progressive Party and its leader Aleksandar Vucic were an organized crime group. "After Belivuk's testimony it is clear that his gang closely cooperated with the Serbian Progressive Party all of these years," Dumanovic said, adding that it had Vucic had been revealed to be Veljko Belivuk's boss and that Belivuk had been a member of the Serbian Progressive Party since 2011.

"All of the things that Belivuk did in the past several years, he did with the knowledge and consent of the Serbian Progressive Party and security services," Dumanovic stressed, adding that Vucic was still the chief of fan groups in Serbia, whose leaders were mostly involved in crime.

Asked whether Vucic should take a lie detector test to possibly prove his innocence, Dumanovic said that if Serbia was a normal country Vucic would have already resigned.
