51 People Die From Coronavirus in Serbia, 6,978 Newly Infected

6,978 people were registered as positive for the coronavirus in Serbia in the past 24 hours out of the 22,978 people tested, while 51 died from covid-19, it was announced on Oct. 7.

The Ministry of Health has announced that 6,579 patients were currently being treated in for the disease in hospitals, 282 of them on ventilators. Since the start of the epidemic, 988,307 people have contracted the virus and 8,582 have died, according to official data.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic urged the people of Serbia on Oct. 7 to take the vaccine against covid-19, claiming that just a little more time was needed for the disease to be completely defeated.
