Corona Virus

In the last 24 hours, 54 people have died of COVID-19 in Serbia, while 4,803 new cases were confirmed, according to an Oct. 10 statement.

The Ministry of Health announced on its covid19.rs website that 15,784 samples had been tested in the same time frame. Of the 6,599 currently hospitalized COVID patients, 271 are on ventilators. Since the beginning of the COVID epidemic in Serbia, the disease has killed 8,737 while 1,005,168 people have tested positive for the virus and 5.855.069 samples were tested.

Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic said on Oct. 10 that vaccination was the only true solution for the COVID-19 epidemic and all else "are half-measures and a prolonging of the agony."

She said that, without vaccination, there would be "wave after wave of the epidemic, until all of the unvaccinated are infected." "Anything else is a red herring from the only important thing, which is vaccination. When we talk about other measures, we're not talking about vaccination. I saw that in all previous waves," the prime minister told Prva TV.
