Zahir Tanin
The U.N. Security Council will at its Oct. 15 session review the regular six-month report of Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on the situation in Kosovo.
The report will be presented by UNMIK chief Zahir Tanin, who has said that the new report focuses on government reform, rule of law, security issues and the situation related to the coronavirus pandemic.
Ahead of the U.N. Security Council meeting, as part of regular consultations, Tanin met with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic in Belgrade and Kosovo Premier Albin Kurti in Pristina.
Officials in Pristina have announced that Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani has departed for New York to attend the session. Serbia is represented by Foreign Minister Nikola Selakovic.
The previous U.N. Security Council session which reviewed the biannual report on UNMIK's activities was held online on April 13.
The session starts at 4 p.m. CET.
