COVID-19 Claims 65 Lives in Serbia as 4,929 Newly Infected

In the last 24 hours, 65 people died of COVID-19 in Serbia, making the national death toll of the epidemic to date 9,955, the covid19.rs website announced on Oct. 31.

A decline in new cases was recorded since the last update of the figures, and Oct. 31 saw 4,929 new cases confirmed out of 16,048 tested. There are 6,764 patients in hospitals with COVID-19, 282 of whom are on ventilators. Since the outbreak of the epidemic in Serbia, there have been 1,142,749 confirmed cases of infection, while 6,312,619 samples have been tested.

The total number of vaccinated adults in the Serbian population passed the three-million mark on Oct. 31, Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic has announced, adding that vaccination against COVID-19 was "the only way to beat the virus."
