In the last 24 hours, 63 people died of COVID-19 in Serbia, while 5,896 were confirmed to be newly infected with the coronavirus that causes the disease, it was announced on Nov. 1.
The Ministry of Health announced on its covid19.rs website that 19,952 samples had been tested in the same time frame. Hospital care is being provided for 6,760 COVID patients, 290 of whom require assisted ventilation. Since the beginning of the epidemic in Serbia, the disease has killed 10,018 people, 1,148,645 have been confirmed to be infected with the virus, while 6.332.571 samples have been tested.
Serbian Minister of Education, Science and Technological Development Branko Ruzic said on Nov. 1 that the COVID Crisis Headquarters believed autumn school vacations should be extended, and that the decision would be made this week.
