Sociologist Andrija Djukanovic stated in Podgorica on Nov. 3 that the way how Montenegrin Prime Minister Zdravko Krivokapic was greeted in Belgrade reflected Serbia's attitude towards the authorities in Montenegro, and added that the visit was not one of great "weight."
"The greeting was not as it should have been for the highest-ranking official of the neighboring and, as they like to say in both countries, brotherly state. Since the Serbian president was justifiably absent, the prime minister could have greeted him. However, she had more important things to do, it seems," he told BETA.
He added that the way Krivokapic was greeted showed that the stance towards the authorities in Montenegro was not good, and that relations between the two countries were at a very low level. "It is obvious that the Serbian authorities do not take our prime minister seriously, and that is the message of this gesture. This is not a prime minister that suits them. No wonder he is being attributed no significance," Djukanovic stated.
The sociologist said that he did not see relations between the two countries improving after Krivokapic's visit to Belgrade, and that the visit did not carry a lot of "weight.
