The EU's special envoy for the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue and other regional issues, Miroslav Lajcak, said after a meeting with Kosovo Premier Albin Kurti that the meetings he had had with the Kosovo premier and the Serbian president this week had not produced any results.

Lajcak said late on Nov. 25 that this week he had met with Kurti twice and talked with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, but that there had been no positive results. He added that the EU's ambitions were currently different and that it was not just about organizing a meeting but rather about reaching an agreement, too, which was why work was being done to that end.

Lajcak also said that preparations for a meeting between Kurti and Vucic continued, but did not provide a specific date when the next meeting might take place, saying that he wanted the meetings between Kosovo and Serbia to yield results.

When asked what he expected of the next meetings of Kurti and Vucic, the Slovak diplomat replied he did not want to speculate. He said that the dialogue would continue because it was important and because the parties involved had goodwill, adding that they just had to be sure that the meeting would produce good results.
