Cyber defense exercise, Cyber Tesla 2021

A multinational cyber defense exercise, titled Cyber Tesla 2021, has been held this week at army barracks Vojvoda Radomir Putnik in Gornji Milanovac and some locations in the USA and Hungary, according to a release published on the Serbian Army website.

The drill focuses on the defense of information and communication technology against cyber threats, with the goal of building military defense system capacities and the Serbian National Center for Risk Prevention in ICT Systems for defense against high-tech attacks.

The exercise should contribute to enhancing cooperation with “the relevant public and private sectors in the field of cyberspace protection,” according to the release.

“The exercise shall lead to upgrading the capacity to respond to incidents in cyberspace and improved coordination of bodies and institutions responsible for information security, and will also help to exchange experience in the field of information security and promote bilateral military cooperation between the Serbian Army and the armed forces of the participating countries,” it is said in the release.

Since 2016, Cyber Tesla exercise has been organized annually by the Serbian and the U.S. Army within the framework of the State Partnership Program of Serbia and Ohio in the field of cyberspace protection. The drill involves representatives of the private and public sectors and the academic community in Serbia. Hungarian Army staff has for the first time joined the drill this year.
