Croatian Foreign Minister Gordan Grlic-Radman said on Dec. 13 that in response to a decision to open a new cluster in Serbia’s accession negotiations with the European Union (EU) his country would express “clear concerns” about tangible results Belgrade had yet to present in war crimes trials, the search for missing persons and minority rights.
Attending a ministerial conference in Brussels, Grlic-Radman said that Zagreb voiced “Croatia’s clear concern” in June, and that the message remained the same, adding that it’s time for Belgrade to show tangible results in the areas of war crimes trials, missing persons and minority rights.
The foreign minister went on to say that Croatia recognized Montenegro’s progress in the accession talks with the Union. Serbia will open Cluster 4 at a Dec. 14 EU-Serbia intergovernmental conference in Brussels.
