Milos Vucevic, the vice president of the Serbian Progressive Party, announced on May 25 that the elections for the National Assembly of Serbia will be known after the vote is repeated in Veliki Trnovac, in the municipality Bujanovac, which is scheduled to take place on May 27.
Vucevic, who is also the mayor of Novi Sad, further stated that the final ballot count can be expected in early June, adding that the pronouncement of the results also marks the beginning of the 30-day legal deadline for the formation of Parliament.
According to him, the Assembly will be inaugurated in early July and “only then will inter- and intra-party talks commence” regarding the election of the new Cabinet. The deadline for the latter is 90 days from the day Parliament is formed.
Vucevic also announced that President Aleksandar Vucic will be “formally and legally” sworn-in for his second mandate on May 31, before the MPs of Parliament’s current convocation.
