The public invitation for innovative solutions for decarbonization, which contribute to a more just green transition in Serbia, launched by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in cooperation with the Mining and Energy Ministry and the Environment Protection Ministry, with support of the Embassy of Japan in Belgrade, was announced on July 7.
The purpose of the invitation is to help the implementation of innovative solutions for the decarbonization of commerce and industry in Serbia, and for the re-qualification of employees in sectors based on intensive use of fossil fuels, and to facilitate cooperation between companies in Serbia and companies from Japan and the European Union that implement the principles of green business, it was stated at the gathering in the Jevremovac Botanical Garden.
"With this invitation, we wish to attract a wide array of ideas about decarbonization and green transformation of the economy, and Japanese companies have the experience and advanced technologies that can help. We are calling on public and private enterprises to conceive and propose innovative ideas that will contribute to the preservation of the environment in Serbia in the future," stated the Japanese ambassador to Serbia, Takahiko Katsumata.
