The Embassy of Iran in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Israeli ambassador to Croatia exchanged harsh words and insults via social networks on Aug. 10, over the current debates regarding the amendments to the Election Act in Bosnia.
After the Israeli embassy to Bosnia, situated in Tirana, announced a statement at the start of the week, declaring support to the Croatian parties’ requests pertaining to the amendment of the Election Act, the Embassy of Iran in Sarajevo responded on Twitter on Aug. 10. “The Zionist apartheid regime is not qualified to comment on the political fate of Bosnia and Herzegovina,” stated the Iranian embassy.
In that way, they supported the foreign minister of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bisera Turkovic, who sent a protest note on Aug. 8 to the Foreign Ministry in Tel Aviv and the Israeli embassy in Tirana, condemning the statement in favor of the stance of the Croatian Democratic Union and other Croatian parties.
There has not yet been any response to the Iranian tweet from Tel Aviv or from the embassy in Tirana, but the Israeli ambassador in Zagreb, Ilan Mor, has made a statement. He wondered if the “funny and dangerous Mullah from Tehran” was at all qualified to judge anything, but did not comment on the contents of the statement made by the Embassy of Israel in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The statement declared that Israel supported the full equality of all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina and any initiative that promoted that equality.
