The Media Freedom Rapid Response (MFRR) platform has published the latest edition of the MFRR Monitoring Report, recording 311 media freedom violations in Europe, 19 of which in Serbia, the Serbian Association of Journalists (UNS) reported on Sept. 19.

The Report created by the European Federation of Journalists, the International Press Institute and the European Centre for Press & Media Freedom says that the MFRR recorded “19 alerts for Serbia” involving attacks on media-related persons or entities.

Of all forms of attacks, psychological violence is most common, and that online harassment and harassment in the workplace are the emerging trends.

As far as workplace threats are concerned, Serbia has seen two bomb threats to the Adria Media Group, while windows were broken in a building in Sabac, hosting the offices of Glas Podrinja and the Serbian state television RTS.

The most serious threat was to the Danas newspaper, following a story including a controversial translation of Mahatma Gandhi’s words.
