On Nov. 17, Finance Minister Sinisa Mali announced that the parliamentary discussion of Serbia’s budget for 2023 should commence on Dec. 5.
Speaking to the RTS public service, Mali said that the budget envisages a 12 percent pension raise as of Jan. 1 and that “there is enough money to increase salaries in the public sector.” The country’s average monthly salary, he added, is expected to be EUR720.
Mali further stated that the government has “prepared 15 more tax policy laws as well as changes to the Law on Fiscalization” and underlined that, in the coming year, the state would “yet again assume the burden of increased fuel prices.”
