Defense Minister Milos Vucevic visited Raska garrison with Chief of General Staff Gen. Milan Mojsilovic, Raska, Nov.1 2022 (BETAPHOTO/DEFENSE MINISTRY)

On Dec. 8, Serbian Defense Minister Milos Vucevic stated that the situation in Kosovo and Metohija “is so charged and precarious that a mere spark could send everything downhill” and pointed out that Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti is yet again communicating to local Serbs that they do not belong there.

“What Kurti wants is to completely cleanse Kosovo and Metohija of Serbs,” Vucevic told the RTS public service. “The commander of KFOR is keeping in contact with the [Serbian Army] Headquarters and KFOR is aware of its duty. As a guarantor of peace, it is obligated to protect all Kosovo citizens, regardless of their nationality,” Vucevic added.

The minister went on to say that Serbia proper is doing everything in its power to resolve its problems with Pristina through dialogue because that is the only rational solution to the situation.

In the evening of Dec. 7, two explosive devices – which are speculated to have been stun grenades –detonated in northern Kosovska Mitrovica. According to the media, no one was injured in the incident.
