Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani reacted on Dec. 9 to what she described as “threats by Serbian politicians in Kosovo,” who said that a 1,000-strong security force in Kosovo would be discussed, adding that Serbian police and soldiers would never enter the territory of Kosovo.

“Serbia’s hegemonistic dream will never come true,” Osmani said on Facebook. She added that “the open threat with a police and military aggression from Serbia proves that the hegemonistic mentality persists in that country.” She stated that there woud never be Serbian police and soldiers in the territory of Kosovo.

“This needs to be rejected and opposed by the entire democratic world, which in 1999 inflicted the strongest blow to this kind of thinking,” the Kosovo president wrote.

Experts in security trends in Kosovo say that deploying Serbian forces was just an empty threat, because the U.N. Security Council Resolution 1244 and the Kumanovo agreement stated that only the KFOR commander could allow Serbian security forces to enter Kosovo. According to these two documents, this is impossible in the current situation and generally speaking.
