The basic court in Pristina confirmed on Dec. 12 that arrestee Dejan Pantic, a former Kosovo police officer, was being detained for one month.
Pantic was arrested on Dec. 10 on suspicion of having orchestrated an attack on the offices of municipal electoral commissions in northern Kosovo. Kosovo Serbs put up roadblocks in protest against his arrest on roads to the Jarinje and Brnjak administrative line crossings in northern Kosovo.
Kosovo Interior Minister Xhelal Svecla announced after Pantic's arrest that he was charged with "terrorist acts and attacking constitutional order."
Petar Petkovic, director of the Serbian government's Office for Kosovo and Metohija, said that detaining Pantic for 30 days was an "attempt to criminalize all Serbs" in Kosovo and that Pristina had not one shred of evidence against him.
