Belgrade has been strongly assured by the five EU member states which have not recognized Kosovo's independence that their position will not change, Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic said on Dec. 16.
Dacic told the Blic newspaper that he and Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic were in constant contact with those states and that, as he put it, their position was as firm as it had been so far.
When asked about a recent statement by European officials that a new version of the so-called Franco-German plan for Kosovo had the support of all 27 EU member states, Dacic replied that he wouldn't go that far.
"There have been many versions of that so-called Franco-German plan and I cannot know what phase it is in. But what I do know is that it is too early to count how much support it has within the EU," said Dacic.
