Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic (BETAPHOTO/SLOBODAN MILJEVIC)

Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic on Feb. 21 said that no cabinet minister or anyone from Serbia had been paying Richard Grenell, the special presidential envoy for the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue during Donald Trump’s presidency, to lobby for Serbia, and branded such allegations as “horrible lies of the opposition and the media outlets owned by tycoons.”

“He [Grenell], as a high American official has demonstrated an understanding for Serbia’s stands and for the position of the Serbs in Kosovo, while not abandoning Washington’s official policy which supports independence of Kosovo,” Brnabic told TV Happy.

She stressed that the parties claiming that Grenell had been paid for lobbying for Belgrade “have caused immeasurable damage to Serbia,” noting that “their only goal is to overthrow [Serbian President Aleksandar] Vucic.”
