Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on June 25 that Serbia as a country would not support any coup in Russia or any other country.
"Serbia as a serious state will never support any coup, any military unseating. Those are things you cannot allow," Vucic told Pink TV. Vucic said the insurgency by the Wagner paramilitary forces in Russia would have an effect on the situation in Ukraine, and on Russia, too, because "Russia cannot win the collective West which is aiding Ukrainian's struggle."
The Serbian president added that the uprising was stopped thanks to "Russian President Vladimir Putin's sharp position." Vucic declined to comment on how any decline in Putin's power could affect Serbia.
Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic told the same TV network that Serbia did not interfere in Russian internal affairs after the rebellion of the Wagner paramilitary group in that country. "On the other hand, as a friendly nation we would like to see all of these issues resolved politically, without any threats that could reflect dangerously on overall stability, that is, peace," Dacic said.
