Commenting on the announcement that the electoral threshold would be increased from three to five percent for a potential snap parliamentary vote, Together party co-president Biljana Stojkovic on Aug. 29 said that changing rules shortly ahead of the election was problematic and undemocratic.

“We know that this regime is neither democratic nor fair, so everything will be done according to the will and interest of the supreme ruler,” Stojkovic told Belgrade daily Danas.

She added that the opposition was not intimidated by a higher electoral threshold.

“We are assured that the awakened citizens have been increasingly aware that (Serbian President) Aleksandar Vucic and his criminal clique must fall. We live in swarms of insatiable grasshoppers, who eat and destroy everything in their way. The citizens, together with the opposition, are the only efficient insecticide against these pests. Even with the five percent threshold,” Stojkovic stressed.
