Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic attended a reception in New York on Sept. 18, hosted by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz to mark 50 years of Germany’s membership in the UN.

“A cordial meeting with Chancellor Olaf Scholz. We used the opportunity to exchange views on the current geopolitical situation, the role and importance of the UN in the world today, and also on how we, as the UN member states, can contribute to addressing the existing global challenges,” Vucic wrote on his Instagram, adding he had once again invited Scholz to visit Serbia.

On the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, Vucic met with the presidents of Hungary and Slovenia, Katalin Novak and Natasa Pirc Musar respectively, and the Montenegrin and Bulgarian presidents, Jakov Milatovic and Rumen Radev respectively.

“We gathered in New York at the 78th Session of the UN General Assembly to exchange opinions on the most important issues of today and possible solutions for some of the burning issues. This is also an exceptional opportunity for the voice of all of us in the Western Balkans to be heard better and louder. I am expecting a large number of meetings with colleagues from all continents, with whom I will discuss ways to strengthen cooperation, revive old and traditional partnerships and build new ones,” Vucic wrote on Instagram.
