The total value of licenses issued for Serbian arms and military equipment exports will this year be over USD1.6 billion, which is a considerable increase compared to the same period last year, the assistant defense minister for material resources, Nenad Miloradovic, said on Sept. 21.

Miloradovic told the Politika newspaper that the sum was 25 percent higher than in 2022, when the value of issued licenses was USD1.3 billion.

When asked about the international arms and military equipment fair Partner 2023, which will open at the Belgrade Fair on Sept. 25, Miloradovic said that 154 exhibitors would participate and that more than 30 foreign military delegations had announced their attendance.

Miloradovic also said that the fair would see the showcasing of 26 new "capital combat systems" manufactured in Serbia, as well as several novelties created in collaboration with foreign partners.

"Here we would highlight multiple new anti-aircraft/anti-drone systems and unmanned aerial and ground platforms, and the first public presentation of the latest domestic new generation artillery system is planned, which will be a big reinforcement to the Serbian Armed Forces and a new trump card of the Serbian defense industry for the future," said Miloradovic.
