Serbian Health Insurance Fund director Sanja Radojevic Skodric on Sept. 26 said that influenza vaccines had arrived in Serbia and would be available in all outpatient clinics next week.

Speaking to state public broadcaster RTS, Radojevic Skodric said that the state had procured 364,500 doses of vaccines, most of which were quadrivalent flu vaccines produced by American company Abbott, while 20,000 doses of trivalent shots were made by Serbia’s Institute of Virology, Vaccines and Sera Torlak.

She also said that experts would determine the best time for vaccination, stressing that it was important that shots were available.

Radojevic Skodric also said that those entitled to flu shots free of charge included persons above the age of 65, pregnant women, children older than six months with chronic diseases, family members of persons who could not receive vaccines over certain health problems, as well as people who lived and worked in nursing homes.
