Freedom and Justice Party leader Dragan Djilas said on Dec. 14 that he sincerely believes that the opposition will win the snap elections, explaining that this would entail garnering the majority vote in the capital and ensuring that the Serbian Progressive Party and Socialist Party of Serbia cannot form a majority government at the parliamentary level.
Speaking for the latest edition of the NIN weekly, Djilas said that most people see that Aleksandar Vucic and his Progressives “have made the country into a circus” and that voting for them is basically voting for crime and corruption to continue.
Asked whether a post-election coalition with Serbia’s right-wing opposition is an option he is open to, Djilas responded in the affirmative.
“I believe that anyone voting for one of those tickets is voting to remove the Progressives. Literally. No one who wants the Progressives to stay in power will vote for either us or [the right-wing opposition],” Djilas concluded.
