Special Military Units of North Macedonia, U.S. and Greece Hold Joint Military Exercise from Jan. 16 to March 16

The Trojan Footprint 24 joint exercise involving special military units of North Macedonia, the United States and Greece is scheduled to take place from Jan.16 to March 16, the Government of North Macedonia announced on Jan. 10.

The training exercise Trojan Footprint 24 is part of the Plan for the organization and participation of the Army of the Republic of North Macedonia in international exercises in 2024 and 2025 “in accordance with the needs for active planning, organization, preparation and implementation of joint training and exercises with NATO allies,” the Macedonian cabinet went on to say in a release.

Forty members of the U.S. special forces and their 12 Greek peers are expected to participate in the exercise, involving also their weapons, equipment, motor vehicles, and other material and technical resources. The special forces of the Army of the Republic of North Macedonia will be included in the preparation and execution of the joint training and exercise, involving   55 participants in activities and logistics.

According to the release, the NATO exercise is planned to take place at the Army Training Area "Krivolak" near Negotino, as well as at the training grounds and shooting ranges in the Garrison "Skopje" and at the shooting range "Kraste" in the Garrison "Stip".
