Should the Socialist Party of Serbia be part of the ruling majority, it would be “natural and expected” for its president Ivica Dacic to be given a high-ranking position, Socialist party official Djordje Milicevic said on Jan. 29.
Speaking for the Vecernje Novosti daily, Milicevic expressed his belief that his party’s collaboration with the ruling Serbian Progressive Party so far is guarantee enough that they will continue as allies.
“The [National] Assembly will be formed very soon, followed by talks between the Socialists and the Progressives’ leadership and president Milos Vucevic. For the ‘A Leap into the Future 2027’ plan – recently unveiled by [Serbian] President [Aleksandar] Vucic – to be actualized, everyone who can contribute needs to get involved. The Socialist Party of Serbia is ready to assume part of the responsibilities and fully devote itself to the plan,” Milicevic concluded.
