Brnabic Candidate for New Parliament Speaker

Following a March 6 evening meeting of Progressive Party of Serbia’s top leadership, which includes Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, Vucic announced that Ana Brnabic will be nominated as parliament speaker of the new National Assembly.

The party will also propose the re-election of incumbent Belgrade Mayor Aleksandar Sapic, Vucic said.

The president concluded by stating that the prime minister designate will be announced in seven to ten days. The media have speculated that the most likely candidate for this position is current Progressives’ leader Milos Vucevic.
