Former Slovenian president Borut Pahor, a candidate to be the new European Union special representative to the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue, is composing a plan for resuming the talks between the two sides, the Montenegrin Vijesti newspaper reported on its website on April 27.
"In the context of his candidacy for EU special envoy for the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue, Borut Pahor is working on a draft outline for the further successful implementation of the dialogue, which is sadly stalled," Pahor's spokeswoman Spela Vovk confirmed for Vijesti.
According to her, before completing the draft, Pahor wants to consult European Union High Representative for Foreign and Security Policy Josep Borrell, EU members and representatives of the Quint, which is made up of France, Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom and the U.S.
With the support of Slovenian Prime Minister Robert Golob and Foreign Minister Tanja Fajon, Borut Pahor is Slovenia's candidate for succeeding Miroslav Lajcak as special representative for the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue. Lajcak will be assuming the position of EU ambassador to Switzerland this year.
