Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic said on Dec. 5 that the Western Balkans were deeply disappointed with stagnation in the EU enlargement process and added that that sent a bad message to the countries of the region and fueled radicalism, as well as strengthening unilateralism in solving joint problems.

"I deeply believe that only through compromise, flexibility and a readiness to accept the interests of others, and not just one's own, that it is possible to reach sustainable solutions for the problems in the region," Dacic said.

In an address to the participants of an OSCE ministerial meeting in Bratislava, Dacic said that "only through compromise, flexibility and a readiness to to respect the interests of others," could sustainable solutions to the problems in the region be reached.

He said that despite Serbia's approach, the dialog between Belgrade and Pristina had been blocked for over a year. Dacic called on the international community to persuade the new Pristina authorities to cancel their tax and "return to dialog in good faith as the only way to solve problems."
