Serbian Orthodox Church Patriarch Irinej has given his blessing to the leaders of the Democratic Front asking them to fight whenever and however they can and not give up defending the Serbian Orthodox Church, said a press release from the Church’s Information Service on Dec. 26.
On Dec. 25, the patriarch received in the Patriarchate building the leader of the New Serb Democracy party Andrija Mandic and leader of the Democratic People’s Party Milan Knezevic.
On Dec. 26 the members of the Montenegrin parliament are to vote on the draft law on the freedom of religion and the legal position of religious communities, which, according to the Serbian Orthodox Church’s warnings, is an attempt to forcibly deprive the Church of its places of worship.
