Serbian deputy prime minister and minister for construction, transport and infrastructure, Zorana Mihajlovic stated on Jan. 12 that she had no connection with the accusations that had arisen from the arrest of the director of the Infrastructure of the Railways of Serbia company and that she expected the relevant authorities to do their job according to the law and that she would be at their disposal at any given time.
"I have in no way participated, nor did I have any connection with the accusations against the acting general director of the Infrastrukture Zeleznice Srbije, Miroljub Jevtic," Mihajlovic said in a written statement, commenting on the claims that the arrested director had been receiving bribes which he split with her.
The media has reported that Jevtic is suspected of receiving a EUR10,000 bribe, on the premises of the Infrastrukture Zeleznice Srbije enterprise, through a mediator, one D.B., for the expropriation of land located on the route of the high-speed rail.
