German company Vorwerk on June 16 started producing automotive parts in a factory in Preljina, near Cacak, following an investment of some EUR60 million.
The plant of Vorwerk & Sohn Group spans 45,000 square meters and currently employs 176 people, while it should create a total of 1,000 jobs.
The City of Cacak has invested several million euros in building public utilities infrastructure at the site. The factory management plans to exports goods worth EUR10 million by the end of the year, and reach EUR150 million in shipments abroad by 2025.
The factory, which was built in 18 months, will supply automotive parts to world renowned car makers, including BMW, Audi, Volkswagen, Ford, and Opel. The opening ceremony was attended by President Aleksandar Vucic.
