The prices of goods and services for personal consumption used to measure inflation in Serbia in August were on average 0.1% lower than in July, the Serbian Statistical Office said in a Sept. 11 press release.
Compared to the same month last year, inflation in August was 1.9% and 1.5% compared to December 2019.
A price decrease in August was registered in the categories food and non-alcoholic beverages (1.4%), clothing and footwear (1%) and communications (0.3%).
A price hike was registered in recreation and culture (3.3%), transportation (1.1%), furniture, household items and current home maintenance (0.3%), alcoholic beverages and tobacco, health care and education (0.2% each).
Restaurant and hotel services also saw a slight price increase, of 0.1%.
