Montenegrin Citizens, Companies Increasingly Indebted

The loans taken by Montenegrin companies and citizens at the end of November 2019 totaled EUR3.09bn. Out of that amount, the loans taken by legal entities, i.e. businesses totaled EUR1.73 or 56.2% of all loans, whereas the loans issued to natural persons added up to EUR1.35bn or 43.8% of the total, the website B92 reports. 

"Relative to the end of November 2018, loans issued to natural persons are seeing an increase of 6.9%, while loans issued to legal entities have registered growth of 0.97%. 

Over the course of 11 months of 2019, the economy was approved EUR483.1m in new loans, which achieved a rise of 9.27%, while [loans] to the population [totaled] EUR455.1m, which is about 1.02% more than in the comparative period," reads the Economic Reforms Program from 2020 to 2022, i.e. the part of the report pertaining to banks' credit activities.
