Young activist Ivan Bjelic is one of many opponents of lithium mining who found themselves being clamped down on by law enforcement in Serbia over the past few days. Since December, Bjelic has become one of the most prominent opponents of the Aleksandar Vucic regime. He was arrested during a blockade of two railway stations in Belgrade, as part of mass demonstrations against lithium exploitation on Aug. 10.
