Danijela Maletic, a former assistant to the director of the Administration for the Prevention of Money Laundering, has drawn widespread public attention over the past few days, having spoken openly about the reasons why she had been removed from office, dismissed and, more recently, arrested. It appears that the motive behind the persecution of Danijela Maletic lies in her professional work concerning suspicious transactions traced back to the investment fund Vista Rica, behind which is the ruling Serbian Progressive Party.
