Jeremic: Serbia Needs Fundamental Changes in Economy, Education

Serbia needs a strategy for the digital transformation of the economy and education, so that it may use the benefits of remote work, which will be increasingly utilized even after the coronavirus pandemic, said the president for the Center for International Cooperation and Sustainable Development (CIRSD) NGO Vuk Jeremic and his interlocutors, in a debate on the occasion of the latest edition of the NGO's Horizons magazine.

The method of education and professional training of people should be reviewed as soon as possible, concurred Jeremic, Stratfor and Geopolitical Futures founder George Friedman and Harvard Business School professor Rawi Abdelai, whose articles were published in the new edition of Horizons.

Friedman said that the world also depended on the stability of the United States, which is currently "in chaos" and added that the next decade in America would be a period of instability, profound misery and social shockwaves, made additionally worse by the coronavirus.

Abdelai said that the coronavirus pandemic had intensified the problems that had existed before it, adding that income inequality of U.S. citizens was now at its highest since 1929.
