Lajcak Aide: Normalization of Relations between Belgrade and Pristina a Process, Everyone's Support Is Required

Carlo Guinipero, a political aide to the EU's special representative for dialog between Belgrade and Pristina Miroslav Lajcak , said on Sept. 10 that Brussels was not ignoring what happened in Washington and that some of the agreement's points were known to Brussels which he said would continue to work on normalizing relations between Serbia and Kosovo.

Guinipero took part in a debate on current issues in relations between Belgrade and Pristina in the wake of signing an agreement on normalizing economic ties in Washington and after high-level dialog in Brussels, as well as current events in the region and the issue of cooperation.

"There is no ignoring, we wish to cooperate with the U.S. and work on normalizing relations between Belgrade and Pristina because this is a process and we will need everyone's support," Lajcak's political aid said.

He also said that in the coming period the EU would continuing enabling political dialog between Belgrade and Pristina, and that it was acquainted with everything that had been done and still needed to be done. "Our goal is a comprehensive agreement, a binding agreement, and to solve also existing issues. The EU will continue to work on implementing what has been agreed and opening other questions which the two sides want to discuss," Guinipero said in an online debate.
