Seventeen Candidates Shortlisted for Futourismo Awards

A total of 17 projects promoting tourism in the Western Balkans are shortlisted candidates for awards provided by the FUTOURISMO competition, six of which will receive EUR15,000 each, the Regional Cooperation Council reported.

The Council and its EU-funded Tourism Project announced on Feb. 3 the beginning of the first Western Balkans FUTOURISMO competition, seeking innovative digital solutions that will help alleviate the negative impact of the pandemic in the sector of tourism it hit hardest.

Over the past 30 days, 84 teams in all six Western Balkans economies have delivered their own digital solutions to make a positive contribution to regional tourism in terms of keeping jobs, maintaining operations and promoting the region as a tourist destinations.

The 17 shortlisted projects will present their ideas to a jury of seven experts in the fields of tourism and technology during the FUTOURISMO award ceremony on March 2. The six best projects will be awarded EUR15,000 each for their proposals.
