21 people died from the consequences of the coronavirus infection in Serbia in the past 24 hours and there were 4,590 newly infected, the Health Ministry announced on March 10.

There are 212 people on ventilators among the 4,311 covid patients in hospitals. 498,696 cases of the infection have been confirmed since the start of the epidemic in Serbia, while 4,620 people have died.

The director of the Bezanijska Kosa hospital center in Belgrade, Marija Zdravkovic, urged the people in Serbia on March 10 to take the vaccine "as soon as possible," especially those suffering from diabetes, heart disease and other chronic illnesses. She added that opponents of vaccination were spreading fear among the people without reason, by claiming, without any scientific arguments, that vaccines were bad.

Another expert, pediatric cardiologist Vladislav Vukomanovic, said on March 10 that the number of children being infected with the coronavirus had grown. He added that one of the reasons for that was the emerging of new strains of the virus.
