Serbia Only Partially Applies Majority of GRECO Recommendations

Serbia has applied the majority of recommendations of the Group of States against Corruption (GRECO) for preventing corruption among MPs, judges and prosecutors only partially and has fully applied less than a fourth, a Apr. 15 reports says.

Out of 17 recommendations, four have been fully carried out and 12 partially, while one has not been applied at all, the Council of Europe's body says in the yearly report. In percentages, Serbia has fully applied 23.5 percent of the recommendations and 70.6 percent partially, which is below the GRECO average.

Namely, the report states that GRECO members carried out almost 40 percent of its recommendations for preventing corruption among MPs, judges and prosecutors by the end of 2020. Serbia has carried out 40 percent or GRECO's recommendations for preventing corruption among MPs and slightly less than 17 percent among judges and prosecutors.

As for the Group's recommendations for MPs 40 percent have been partially applied and over 80 percent for judges and prosecutors. On the level of GRECO its recommendations for stopping corruption among MPs were applied the least (30 percent), followed by judges (41 percent) and prosecutors (47 percent).
